Elia Tours was founded in Brisbane, Australia, in June 2007.

However, the concept for the business arose in 2002 when Managing Director, Danielle Cullen, was working in Japan as an English teacher for Aeon, a large English school chain.

As a teacher, Danielle realised that a combination of classroom study with free time to practise outside of class was the optimal way for students to learn English quickly and naturally.

After considering locations in Japan and New Zealand, the company was finally established in Australia, with the objective of providing high quality, personalised English Study Tours to small groups.

Since then, the company has responded to market demand and extended its services. Elia Tours now offers a number of vacation itineraries (that may be taken with or without the English Study Option), and Business English courses for corporate groups.

And of course, the infamous trail riding weekends - initially a one-off tour, word of mouth has spread and Elia Tours now runs these trips once a month for the local market, with an excellent 75% return rate of happy customers!
